Your first visit

From the front door to the plan you leave with.

  • How long it takes

About an hour with a physical therapist. Come a few minutes early to sign in and see the studio.

  • What to wear and bring

Clothes you can move in and shoes you can walk in. Bring your plan card, a photo ID and any notes from your surgeon or physician.

  • What happens

Your therapist asks about your week, watches you move and examines you. They explain what they find, the choices and any risks, and you agree on a plan.

  • What is not decided on day one

We do not promise how long care will take, or that you will join a class. We may ask you to see your physician first if something needs checking.

Mostly conversation, then movement

The first visit is mostly talking and watching you move. Hands-on care and exercise begin when you and your therapist agree on them. If you would like to bring someone with you, bring them. If a class is a good next step, your therapist says so.
