Clinical Pilates

Pilates taught by instructors who work from your physical therapist's notes, on reformers, a tower and the mat.

This care is for you if

  • You want to move with more control and less guessing

  • Your physical therapy has ended and you want a next step

  • You like to be shown how, one cue at a time

  • You want a class where someone checks how you are moving

What a class looks like

  • What we do

You warm up on the mat, work on a reformer or the tower and finish with a stretch. The instructor adjusts each move for you and shows an easier or harder way.

  • What decides how often you come

What your therapist and instructor see, what you want to do, and how your body feels after class. You choose how often, and we talk it through.

  • Who teaches you

A Pilates instructor, with a physical therapist on the floor and a note on your plan.

    Meet the team
  • How it is paid for

Classes are paid for separately from physical therapy visits. We do not bill your plan for classes.

    How fees work
  • Chest pain, trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache or pain, new weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a fall with a head injury needs emergency care now. Call 911.

Questions about this care

Do I need to have done physical therapy first?

No. You can start with an intro class. If you would like a physical therapist to look at you first, ask for a visit.

What if I have never done Pilates?

Start with reformer foundations. The instructor explains each piece of equipment and every move.

What if something does not feel right in class?

Say so. The instructor changes the move, and a physical therapist on the floor can take a look. If you are unsure, check with your physician.
